UNUM PICKS EXCHANGE

UnumProvident Corp. (Portland, ME) selected Microsoft's (Redmond, WA) Exchange 2000 server as its messaging platform.

SYNTEL/CONSECO PACT

Global applications outsourcing and e-business solutions firm Syntel (Troy, MI) has signed a partnering agreement with Conseco Finance Corp. (Indianapolis) to provide IT and support solutions, including application maintenance, enhancement, development and implementation initiatives.

WAUSAU UPS SEATS

Employee benefits and service provider Wausau Benefits (Wausau, WI) has upgraded the number of seats of Austin, TX-based PlanView's project, resource and management software for use beyond the firm's IT group and into other business areas, such as finance and claims, with plans to move to a complete organizational roll-out of PlanView's project, service and management Web software.

PMIC, MARKETSOFT DEAL

Omaha-based Physicians Mutual Insurance Co. has chosen sales lead management software from MarketSoft (Lexington, MA). Physicians Mutual will utilize the software to support a major upgrade of its marketing systems.

GRANGE GOES PC

Grange Insurance Group (Seattle) has licensed Docucorp International's PC-based policy production system for policy production and billing, having used the Dallas-based firm's mainframe production solutions since 1989.

OLD MUTUAL/SUNGARD

London-based Old Mutual PLC signed a contract for the deployment of COMPASS, SunGard Insurance System's pension and annuity administration system.

NYL BISYS RENEWAL

New York-based BISYS renewed its agreement with New York Life to provide its 9,900 licensed career agents nationwide with a portfolio of various insurance products and services.

CSAA TAPS EAUTOCLAIMS

eAutoclaims (Palm Harbor, FL) has been selected by AAA-affiliate the California State Automobile Association (San Francisco) as the provider of online claims management solutions for its members.

SBLI/PILOTFISH DEAL

Savings Bank Life Insurance of Massachusetts (Woburn) licensed PilotFish Technology's (Wethersfield, CT) NetBusiness Acquisition solution. SBLI will use the system as part of a strategic initiative to upgrade its life insurance systems and processes.

MONY PICKS CHECKFREE

MONY Life Insurance (New York) will use CheckFree's (Atlanta) RECON-Plus for Windows to automate manual processes in its policyholder services area.
