North Carolina Farm Bureau to Implement Java Version of CSC's Exceed

The carrier will deploy the Java-based policy component of the suite, following with the claims component later next year.

Raleigh-based North Carolina Farm Bureau (NCFB) plans to implement the Java version of Falls Church, Va.-based CSC's Exceed Policy, the companies report. NCFB has also committed to migrating its CSC production system, Exceed Claims, to the Java version when that option is available in late 2011.

“We recognize the long-term benefits of a Java technology-based platform and chose Exceed for its scalability and proven, function-rich capabilities to grow with us well into the future,” Linda Squires, senior executive, operations and IT for North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Group, says in a statement.

Currently available Java components of the Exceed suite include policy administration (for personal auto line of business), billing and collections, and client management. The Java version of Exceed Policy supports end-to-end P&C insurance processing for all 50 states, the UK and Canada on Sun Solaris and Linux on IBM’s System z, along with DB2 and WebSphere, CSC claims. Additional platforms will be supported including Windows, SQL Server, and others.

CSC launched the Java version of Exceed last year.
