Scottsdale Names New Agency Management & Business Development Head

Karen Davis has been with the company since 1990.

Nationwide subsidiary Scottsdale Insurance Company, an excess and surplus and specialty lines carrier has named Karen Davis VP of Agency Management and Business Development.

Davis will oversee product management, research and new business development, reporting to Gary Tiepelman, SVP of Contract Underwriting. She replaces Steve Franke, who became vice president of Contract Underwriting's West Region in January 2013.

"Karen has a knack for bringing out the best in her agents and colleagues," Tiepelman said in a statement. "I am excited to see her bring out the best in us as she oversees our agency plant and our products on a line-of-business basis. Karen is sure to attract new products and programs. Her efforts are a crucial part of Scottsdale Insurance's long-term growth plans."

Karen and her agency management skills will take Scottsdale Insurance and our general agents to the next level."
