Xactware Updates Estimation Software

In addition to updates to its core product, the Professional edition includes new mobile capabilities for BlackBerry users.

Orem, Utah-based Xactware has released version 27.1 of its Xactimate estimating software.

The new version features a square foot tool, which makes it faster for users to depict the above- and below-grade square footage for traditional, bi-level, and split-level structures, according to the company. It also includes a tool that alerts potential inspection rule violations, a sketch feature that allows allows users to set up construction defaults for various geographical regions and drag-and-drop data transfer.

“As with previous versions of Xactimate, these latest enhancements and features are based on feedback from professionals who use the software every day,” Jeffrey Taylor, Xactware’s assistant vice president of Xactimate, says in a statement. “This ensures we are providing our users with the tools and solutions they need to perform their jobs quickly and effectively.”

The company also updated its Xactimate Professional version of the product. The new feature XactScope allows estimators to use BlackBerry smartphones to enter a scope of the loss, search line items, record voice notes and take photos of property damage. Also, a new quality report form and new estimate analysis functionality helps track and report changes, and a quality review form allows users to reinspect and compare original claims assignments with modified estimates.
