XL Launches New Claims Portal on Accenture Platform

The insurer used Accenture Claim Components to build a portal allowing web and mobile-based access to claims information.

Hamilton, Bermuda-based XL Group has opened a new customer claims portal based on its global claims system, XL Global Claim.

Both the portal and the base system are built on Accenture's (New York) Claim Components platform. The portal offers access to such claims-related information as contact details and locations for XL claims handlers, date of loss, policy number, and claims status. It is accessible through a web browser or XL's iPhone app.

“With the increasing ubiquity and usage of mobile devices, it was a priority for XL to offer its customers better access to claims information through online and mobile channels,” says Paul Tuhy, EVP and global head of claims at XL, in a statement. “We had previously selected the Accenture Claim Components for the development of our global claims system and, since the software is designed for multi-channel access, we were able to also develop and implement our new customer portal rapidly and cost-efficiently.”
