XL Group Appoints Global Analytics Leader
Reflecting a trend toward creating an executive position for ownership and oversight of insurance data strategy, XL Group has appointed Tim Pitt as head of data, analytics, and pricing, a newly created job.
Based in London, Pitt is responsible for oversight of XL Group's data model, its data quality, and its pricing across its global insurance segment. He reports to the company's global chief actuary, Susan Cross, and also will work closely with other business leaders, including Chris Dougherty, head of underwriting and ceded re, as well as Kimberly Holmes, head of strategic analytics.
"Harnessing the right data and making it available to our businesses to make informed underwriting, pricing and operational decisions will help us adapt quickly to market challenges and deliver the products that our clients need," says Greg Hendrick, chief executive of XL Group's global insurance operations, in a statement. "Tim's strong background as an Actuary and his Finance team experience enables him to provide valuable insights and guidance in this space."
Pitt joined XL Group as a pricing actuary team leader in 2006. He served as program leader for XL's Enterprise Management Information program from 2010 to 2012 and has led the development of XLAPS, the insurance segment's pricing tool framework, since 2011.
