ANNIS RETIRES
David Annis, CIO and group vice president, IT, The Hartford Financial Services Group, is retiring in April. According to the carrier, Annis will not be replaced. Executives who reported to Annis will report to CFO David Johnson. Annis' retirement makes Neil Boissoneau, VP, enterprise technology services group, The Hartford's highest-ranking IT executive.
EX-TECH CEO AT SUN LIFE
Robert C. Salipante has been appointed president of Sun Life Financial US (Wellesley Hills, MA). Most recently, Salipante was president and general manager, US Financial Services, with ING. He also was SVP/CFO and oversaw technology at Reliastar before it was acquired by ING.
WALLIS LEAVES NY LIFE
Mervyn Wallis, most recently CIO of New York Life International (New York), left the company, which will not replace him. His responsibilities will be shared by JudithCampbell, New York Life's CIO, and an IT team based in Hong Kong.
WAGNER IS VALEN VP
Valen Technologies, Inc. (Denver), a provider of predictive software and services, named David C. Wagner vice president of sales and services. Previously, Wagner was president and CEO of AQS, Inc.
CALLAHAN PROMOTED Transamerica Retirement Services (Los Angeles) promoted Kent G. Callahan to president and CEO. Callahan has been with the company for 17 years, most recently as SVP, business development and marketing.
