Los Angeles-based L.A. Care Health Plan has selected a core administration platform, care management system, constituent web applications and application management services from Denver-based TriZetto.
“L.A. Care’s investments in technology must support our ability to be an effective and efficient public health plan," says Howard Kahn, chief executive officer of L.A. Care, in a statement. "TriZetto is a strategic technology partner that can help us improve the overall cost, quality and coordination of care delivery for our community stakeholders.”
L.A. Care made investments in technology because it anticipates member growth due to accountable care organization models, evolution of the California’s Health Benefit Exchange and the Dual Eligibles Demonstration Project anticipated in 2013. The health plan's CIO, Gene Fernandez, says his organization will use TriZetto's application management hosting services for “agility, speed and flexibility” that support membership growth and regulatory change.
These services ensure a nimble, reliable IT infrastructure that enables L.A. Care to respond quickly to state and federal developments in the California managed-care market, he adds in a statement.
